IKE Lab is a nonpartisan research initiative operated by Dr. Brian Amos and Dr. Alex Middlewood of Wichita State University's Department of Political Science. Through IKE Lab, they provide high-quality data, analysis, and public information about Kansas elections, making election statistics, voter registration data, advance voting reports, election results, maps, and original research readily available to journalists, researchers, students, policymakers, and citizens across the state. The lab's mission is to improve public understanding of Kansas politics and elections through accurate, accessible, and transparent data.
Maintaining this valuable public resource requires access to official election data from the State of Kansas. To continue producing the voter registration statistics, advance voting reports, election analyses, and other resources that Kansans rely upon, IKE Lab must purchase updated voter registration files and early voting data throughout the year.
For 2026, IKE Lab's data acquisition costs total $4,200:
- Monthly voter registration data files: $300 per month × 12 months = $3,600
- Advance voting data records: $300 per election × 2 elections = $600
Total annual data costs: $4,200
