For fifty years, Sam Yeager has dedicated his career to the students of Wichita State. In this capacity he has taught hundreds of classes, mentored an unprecedented number of undergraduate and graduate students, and served on dozens of university committees where he advocated and championed for what was in the best interests of our students.
Sam’s contribution to the establishment of Hugo Wall’s Master of Public Administration degree has been one of the pivotal contributions he made during his tenure at WSU and will serve as one of his lasting legacies. He worked tirelessly to ensure we were an internationally accredited MPA program, to champion a well-rounded curriculum grounded in the belief that good government and good administration are synonymous with each other, supported and mentored junior faculty, and ensured we recruited the best and brightest students that would later promote democratic governance at the local, state, and national levels of government and in the nonprofit sector as proud public servants.
To honor that service, we have established the 50 for 50 campaign -- $50 for 50 years of service.
The Sam Yeager Fund for MPA Student Success will support Hugo Wall MPA students with scholarships and financial awards but also serve as a safety net for any student needing immediate supports due to financial hardship.
Please join us in recognizing Sam’s extraordinary academic and professional achievements by supporting current and future MPA students in Hugo Wall.
