Wichita State Esports is one of the most prestigious and competitive Varsity Esports programs in the country. In recent years, multiple teams won their way to championship berths in Orlando and Dallas, joining the best the country has to offer to compete for national championships. In 2025, Esports teams traveled to 15 national competitions, and the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team won the ECAC National Championship in fall 2025. The Esports team is currently raising funds in anticipation of travelling to national competitions in the coming academic year, including regular competitions and potential championship travel. Over 70 Wichita State students are engaged in competitive, applied learning, and administrative roles, helping to bridge the Esports participant life cycle from high school to industry professionals, and have additional travel opportunities for professional development for students in non-competitive roles, such as NAECAD, the NACE National Convention, CECC, and more!
