The Life Happens Fund

The Life Happens Fund, which helps support students in an unexpected time of financial need. Gifts to this fund ease the financial burden of our students when they are faced with unexpected, one-time financial challenges. Below are some examples of what this fund can do for students at WSU:

́ “As an international student-athlete, I survive off my scholarship and part-time job, and my family back home tries to cover whatever costs remain. Without support from the Life Happens Fund, I don’t think I would have been able to attend school for another year. I cannot explain what this generosity means to my family and me.” – Justin

́ “The summer before my student teaching semester, my dad passed away, and I had to pay for his funeral expenses. I am a single mom of three children, and if I had not received scholarship support, I would have needed to drop out and get a full-time job to support my household. I wish I could personally thank every donor whose support made all the difference for my family.” – Tameshia
