Kaitlyn Greenman was a bright, compassionate young woman who believed in helping others. She was finishing her freshman year at Wichita State University in the spring of 2022, where she was involved in club and intramural volleyball. Outside of school, Kaitlyn worked as both a CNA and CMA at a local senior living center. She dreamed of one day becoming a physician associate and dedicating her career to caring for others.
On May 14, 2022, while driving home, Kaitlyn came upon a one-car rollover accident. Without hesitation, she stopped and stepped in to help the two people involved. As Kaitlyn was rendering aid, an intoxicated driver tragically sped into the scene and took her life. Kaitlyn ran home to Jesus on May 16th.
Kaitlyn was only 19 years old, but the way she lived her life reflected a compassion and willingness to serve others well beyond her years. She saw people in need and chose to help.
The Kaitlyn Greenman Memorial Scholarship was established at Wichita State University to honor that spirit. Through this scholarship, we hope Kaitlyn’s legacy of compassion, service, and caring for others will continue through another deserving Wichita State student.
Our hope is that every scholarship recipient carries a little bit of Kaitlyn’s legacy forward—using their education, gifts, and compassion to make a difference in the lives of others.
